Make every Chinese character feel learnable.
Chinese Stroke Order turns a dictionary lookup into a connected path through form, sound, meaning, writing, and recall.
Why we built it
Learning Hanzi is easier when reference and practice live together. Instead of sending learners between disconnected animation, dictionary, worksheet, and review sites, we bring those steps into one focused workspace that works for a quick lookup or a longer study session.
What you can do
Explore 9,574 character entries with animated stroke order, pronunciation, structure, components, radicals, pinyin, and common vocabulary. Move directly into handwriting practice, printable worksheets, HSK 2.0 and 3.0 lists, flashcards, dictation, comparison, and text-level analysis.
How the learning system works
Watch the full stroke sequence, inspect difficult movements, write with feedback, meet the character inside real words, and return through active recall. Search indexes offer several paths to the same character, while saved vocabulary and practice history help signed-in learners continue where they left off.
Free and Pro
Core character reference remains accessible, while Free includes starter-sized HSK and daily practice capacity. Pro opens higher HSK levels and expands writing, worksheets, review, analysis, and saved vocabulary. Quarterly Pro renews every three months; annual and lifetime plans are one-time purchases. Full details are on the Pro page.
Data quality and attribution
Stroke rendering uses Hanzi Writer and Make Me a Hanzi data. Dictionary definitions and traditional forms are enriched with CC-CEDICT. These resources remain governed by their respective upstream licenses. Language data can contain omissions or differing scholarly conventions, so learners should consult a teacher or authoritative dictionary for high-stakes questions.
Privacy and responsible operation
We keep payment-card collection on Waffo-hosted checkout and use account and learning data to provide the requested service, enforce plan limits, and support learners. Read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for details.
